Due to the nature of machinery used in the waste and recycling industry, it is vital to stay ahead of health and safety requirements to minimize the risk of accidents and to ensure safe instructions are available for the users of waste handling equipment. Mil-tek have been manufacturing Balers and Compactors since 1992 and have been at the forefront of compliance and proactivity in improving health and safety standards since this time.
Our machines have been certified by CE, ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and AS/NZ 4024.1, and our organisation is ISO 14001 certified. Our commitment to safety in general and safe machine use is unparalleled.
Over the past number of years Mil-tek have been a part of a HSE (Health and Safety Executive) committee that has been committed to creating new and improved standards for the safe use of vertical balers. As a result of these regular committee meetings, the CEN (the European Committee for Standardization) have introduced the new EN16500:2014 standards, which are designed to rigorously protect users through all aspects of the machines’ operation.
These standards cover all aspects of use including but not exclusive to the bale chamber, the bale ejection area, the controls actuators and devices, emergency stop systems, noise reduction, instruction manuals and labels and any other potential hazards a user could face. The design of the machine is entirely committed to ergonomic and safe use.
In accordance with these new standards Mil-tek has updated its range of balers (models 2102, 2205, 2305, 2306 and 2509) with key changes and improvements to comply with these standards.
